Hi -

I'm working on a project powered by Minnowboard for Yocto's Innovation challenge (check it out here!). Right now I'm trying to settle on an OS. You can view the project idea here. Basically, I'm just trying to flesh this idea out. It's basically a private cloud server that uses WebDav protocol to manage directories.

Anyway, any tips are helpful.

My first thought: put Linux on it. It'll have most of the software you need to build what you want to build right out of the box, so you save time and can get your idea working fast. Debian is probably a good choice to start with.

Later on, for production, something like OpenBSD might be better, but if the Linux side works and you secure it properly, it should be fine as well.
